Question title: PUNK

Punk is what it's become, like it or not. Reality isn't necessarily what you want it to be, it's what everyone thinks it is. If you say the word 'punk,' people will put it in context with the little kiddie shit bands like good charlotte, because that's what they hear on their gay radio stations. In my opinion punk was (thanks for saying it first guys) better before the late 90s. I'm not saying there isn't still some good music in the pop/punk/emo/ska genre that some bands have kinda just .. created .. but I do like NOFX, Rancid, a little Bad Religion and some Pennywise. These are restricted bands, though - only listen if you really appreciate where punk came from..

That leaves a lot to be said about other music genre's like .. uh .. chicago.. which I saw, if you're referring to the movie.. but only because I was with this chick who wanted to see it. Afterwords she made up for taking me to that movie..

Anyways, everyone can *****, but if you really dissapprove (sp?) then start your own band. or your own thread.. I don't know.

Thumbs down

Well in my opinion punk has gone down hill and changed for the worst, bands like greenday and weezer used to be awesome but now they just are no good at all, there are still some "punk" bands out there but you gotta look for em, they wont be on thre radio. I think bands like Good charlotte, sum 41 they arent punk they are bubblegum pop crap. I ve changed over to ska now, look up some Catch-22(the greatest band ever), big d and the kids table, aquabats, you might like it. For hardcore id recomend boy sets fire, atreyu (sp?), the main thing about music today is that the industry is so commercial and phony, you have to look for the good bands and turn the radio off, go to local shows, go to all those wierd bands websights you see on bumper stickers, and LISTEN to the music, dont go with the flow.

I know they're not punk...they actually have more of a kind of pseudo-ska sound to them sometimes...whatever it is...it's good.

CGOP is an awesome song, I must agree. Some other favorites are "Night Shift", "City on Down", and "About Mr. Brown".

You like any Dispatch, X?

Now people hear a commercial for sour cream potato chips and rush out to buy.

punk hmmm. I like mest. but... besides punk.

kmfdm I still listen to them sometimes... Ken Andew's indie rock band, failure. Now he's with Year of the Rabbit. a few rolling stones..

i like the doors and jimmy hendrix, u2, cure, poe, no doubt, and chilli peppers, system of a down.

new bands: not really fond of.. but i went to their concerts coz someone invited me to. All American Rejects, Hoobastank, Linkin Park, P.O.D.

Audioslave, Blink, Chevelle, Story of the Year, Mest.. I think are pretty good bands.
