Ok, I am the worst snowboarder ever, and you will be shocked to know I've been doing it for a year. I refused to take a lesson so my boyfriend tried to teach me...the first time I went I fell and tore the ligaments in my knee so I've been terrified to do a toe side since! I really need some advice on how to carve so I can go down the hill other then the way I've been doing it! (I've simply been doing a heel side, then stopping and flipping the board around and doing another heel side...) I'm a goofy foot too, if that makes any difference. Please help me and tell me what I should be doing with my feet and knees!! And should I lift one side of the board up? or should it be flat on the ground....
Thanks! :)

first of all you wont be able to carve if u cant do simple turns yet. i would deffinatly take a lesson if u get a good instructor it helps tons. with ur feet well jus make sure ur boots are nice and tight. keep your knees slightly bent and make sure to stand up straight and keep your shoulders inline with ur body, dont look at the ground--look up to where u wanna go and keep ur weight on ur front foot(which in ur case would be ur right). balance is the key. it takes awhile to get used to using ur edges(yes u bring one side up ex. using ur edge) but once u get it, it sticks. you only have ur board flat on the ground when ur going from edge to edge which you really cant even tell(or shouldnt be able to). sounds like u have been doin treverses...after u start to get those down jus experiment with linking turns.Hope i helped. wow i jus went through wat i tell my lessons and that wasnt even half of it...now i know how much i talk

oh and ur knees are jus ganna be messed up the whole snowboarding life....its either ur butt or your knees(well if u fall)...but keep trying!!.................wow srry bout writing too much
