New guy, need a few suggestions

I need a few suggestions on my first board.

Heres the deal..
At most, I will only be going a few times a year but plan on doing it for years to come. I dont want to rent and this will most likely be my first and only board so I want something that will be a good allrounder.

I'm 5'9" 165lbs size 9/9.5 boot.

From what I gather I want a narrow board and can ride anything in the range of 155 to 160...is that correct?

Can you guys give me a few suggestions on some boards I can look at from the following:
Morrow
K2
Burton
Forum
Nitro

Can you also give me a pecking order (best to less best) and pros-cons...
Also should I try to get a board on the shorter or longer end of my spectrum.
