Anyone out there rode a Burton Custom or Custom X before? How'd you like it?

I was sold on the Burton Custom X board, until the store salesman talked me out of it. Its a good board, and the buzz on the street has hyped its abilities up. Is it worth the $500 for the board, only you can decide.

I wound up getting a Palmer, and I'm pleased with my purchase. :D

I've been riding a Custom for years and would consider the X if I needed a new board. Great board, plenty of pop for tricks, jumps, etc, but stiff enough to carve the steeps and plow through the moguls. It's very responsive and transistions quickly so it's great for freeriding. One downside to the Custom (and I've seen a few Customs with this problem) is that the paint tends to chip and peel off of the top. I'd hope Burton has remedied that problem. I've only seen that on the year/size I have (2001? 164).
