what exercises do you reccoment to get ready for the season?
my thoughts is::
squats
crunches
legpress
leg extention
leg curl
inner and outer thighs
back extention
Stairmaster/Jogging
front and back flys (for the delts)
and wear ankle weights to build the endurance in ure legs
any other suggestions or dissagreements?
some of these exercises arent really really needed, but they will help some and also give you muscle tone balance

....or you could sit on your couch, eat, watch TV, and wait for the snow to come, then just be sore for a few days at the start....Thats what I usually do. Works out pretty well.

yea... working out the muscles you use to balance is a good idea, mainly getting ready for boarding is just endurance and stamina... yea strength some but work on stamina and endurance, so you wont tire, blow, strain, pull any muscles... also helps w/ blood flow... alot of other shiz
anyway when i said muscle balance, like u dont want massive forearms and like toothpicks for bicepts, the same for the rest of your body...
its amazing u can only lift for 45 min a day 3 days a week and eat decent and you can build pretty quick if you exercise right and balance your muscles

You don't have to be sore... if you drink protein/carbohydrate drinks during the day and take anti-oxidant pills at lunch and dinner, I bet you'll feel great even if you're not particularly fit. It's important to fuel your muscles and carry away free-radicals. Its important to avoid toxins like alcohol the day before, during, and after.

Running is one of the best things you can do to prepare yourself for the snowboarding season. Not only will running work the same muscles you use going down the mountain, but running will also greatly increase your endurance. I am a long distance runner and I can snowboard for 6 hours straight with no fatigue or pain. Another thing is your abs as they help initiate your turns. So doing plenty of sit-ups will only help you in the long run. The most important thing to do is stretch before you go on the slopes. With the temperature being cold your muscles are stiff and stretching them will help them become more elastic. This will greatly reduce your chance of injury.

you only use your abs if you're hunched over when you're riding, if you're carving and lying flat like i am you can go all day without fatigue in your abs...

I'venever worked out in my life and I've never torn anything snowboarding...I'v broken a leg and got some concussions but exercising wouldn't have helped with either of those...(I slid out on some ice and went horizontally into a tree(leg) and caught my nose on an ice mound I was trying to clear(concussion))but I dunno..do whatever you feel like doin..
