Hey I have this drop in plan but with 1.9 cm thick 122 by 244 cm (In American 3/4" thick 4' by 8'). The plywood in itself will cost me $180 (about 144.5 EUR) and thas just for 3 sheets! is there a cheaper alternative to this plan I already figured instead of plywood for the side supports of the down slope I could cut the angle at 67.5 degrees and get the same result but a hell of a lot cheaper. any suggestions on the top sheets? they would be well taken in at any suggestion no matter how dumb, I mean look who ur talking too peace

i'd think u'd want it to be higher than that.. for something cheaper i'd try lookin around allys an stuff u often see couchs or other large wooden objects there for free. if u don't want to stoop that low though maybe disasemble ur neigboors porch?

haha I doubt my neighboor would appreciate that, I meant like some short cuts, but still have it built sturdy. Haha yeah I've been looking for some free junk ta try and shove into the back of the pickup and dismantle for parts, I'm really looking for some sort of alternative material besides plywood to put on the part where u slide. idk though. peace

I'm not sure you'd find anything cheaper than aluminum... you can try sheet steel, might be cheaper but I'm not sure, dont even try aluminum, as it's extremely expensive. You can always use plastic for the covering instead of plywood, plastic's pretty cheap and it's slippery and sturdy enough to cover your needs, but it's hard to find, as many places dont just sell pieces of plastic. Or you can always reduce the width of what you're making, make it less wide by 2x and you pay 2x less for materials.

Use this stuff called puckboard.... It's the same stuff they use for the boards in hockey rinks... and it's also a very popular material for snowboarding boxes... It is more slippery than ice when it get's a little wet or some snow on it... check it out.. around here it costs about 64 bucks for a 4 by 8 sheet (canadian)
