Curious.... What way do you guys ride? Goofy, or normal???

I'm a goofy. But they gave me a normal board for my first day and it threw me off so now i am a goofy normal boarder. i can ride either way totally comfortable. kinda helpful sometimes actually depending on my cercumstance. wow i butchered that word. and that one. anyways, its great. except for getting off the lifts, that is a huge diffeculty. Espicially at first when i tried getting off goofy and everyone ELSE was normal on the six pac. knocked everyone over! lol. second day ever. not fun! :o anyways, ttyl!

Most people you will find ride normal. :) Just like the ratio of lefties to righties.

If you're really wanting to learn tricks and go big and such, learn to ride both ways. It'll really really help. I was originally regular but now I ride both without a problem. I like to spin switch because you get wicked switch steez.

GOOFY 4 LIFE

But technically, I switch so much that I'm not even sure which one I do dominantly...that's why I'd really really really like to find a good upper-level twin-tip board for the slopes (not having much luck).

Oh and Mere...just for future reference...

Thank you so much, aaron. circumstance. gottcha. I am pro both goofy and normal. very fun, considering i never even had to try to learn. Arn't goofies usually lefty handers? thats what i thought, so i was totally weirded out to figure out i was goofy. anyways, guess that isn't true, cause my lefty friend is a normal. i like being goofy. sounds cooler then 'normal'. how boring! :p

You know what sucks? It's been scientifically proven that we leftys live, on average, 8 years less that the right-handed population!

Some of the components were stress-related, but another factor was that a lot of heavy equipment/tools are geared for right-handers, and as an effect, a lot of work-related accidents occur.

Pretty weird, huh?

I think that's dumb. I mean maybe all the left handers they tested were out of shape and really unhealthy. or sumthin. lol doens't make sense. but ya. how can they scientifically prove that anyways? i mean they would have to wait a life time to test that and who knows what the test-ees (lol funny word) do at home. anyways....doesn't make much sense. lol

Yeah...that would be kinda hard to tell you if we're still alive if we're already dead.

Unless...I come back as a keyboard. Then, somebody else could tell you through me! But how to tell them to tell you...that is the real riddle...

Insecure? I ain't insecure about anything hunny! I just personally think it is pretty ugly. And yes, sometimes it does get tiresome getting dirty looks from all the public school girls and stares in general from everyone else. Can never go anywhere without like 30 head turning looks. Just today these boys walked past me and my friend and turned around to 'their girls' and said, 'hey, thats not fair, they get skirts and all you get is baggy sweats with the school name on the butt'. That is why we get dirty looks from the girls. anyways, that was a weird post.

um.......your right. It actually can be really fun. But then there are the days, when you are tired, hungry, stressed out and want to go home and when someone talks to you about your uniform you nearly bite there heads off. Feel bad afterwards, but my gosh, mind you own business!

oN the bus home one day this girl asked me 'is that really a school uniform?' i was kinda having a rough day and was a little sarcastic. i think my reply was along the lines 'of course not! Actually...Post Toasties are unsweetened. Well...they were. Post doesn't make 'em anymore, to my knowledge. Kinda like Wheaties, I would suppose. But my dad ate 'em back in his day, I've never seen them so don't count me as an expert.

I don't know why they use Post Toasties instead of something else like "Who Pissed in your Fruity Pebbles?"...guess it's because they came up with it "back in the day" when FP's didn't exist. Oh ho. Very funny. I'm BACK now, and there isn't much (espicially compared to where I am from, around 3 most popular place in the world for tourists or something) in Alberta. We saw the Hoodoos, and a lot of flat ground. Um, mostly it was to visit relatives. We were also around 5 miles from Montana, so I am guessing that Montana is pretty boring. Well, had better go do some STUPID homework. ttyl

Yes, I'm told Montana is EXTREMELY boring.

And homework isn't stupid...it's just really really irrelevant in high school. When you get to college, you'll wish your physics teacher would have done a lot better job of teaching you stuff. Trust me.

No, that's called "dad doesn't want to hire another hand so he makes his kids work for free." :)

...and then when they ask why they're not getting paid, dad says "you get paid with food on the table and a roof over your head." Then when they ask why their little sisters don't work and still get "paid" in the same fashion, dad gets really angry and starts throwing things.

Those tree uprooter/mover/replanter things are really cool. I helped Uncle Jeff with some treework once or twice, and it was a lot of fun to watch how the things work.

he has almost every toy in his type of business, and it general dosn't include a uprooter/mover/replanter thing. He cuts trees down and prunes them usually. So i just drag brush and shove it throught the chipper and sweep woodchips and stuff. and bug his co-workers. actually they bug me more... two against one. anyways, sometime he does the whole replanting thing, then he rents one of those, but mostly it is just cuttting trees over. which is actually quite the art. try falling a 50 foot tree leaning to the left , falling it to the right between a house and a garden shed 20 feet apart. i have to close my eyes. it's more fun when he can just flop em over. sometimes he does HUGE ones! very cool. he has a chain saw that is like my height or taller!

sparky
10-19-2003, 02:26 AM
So he doesn't do much replanting? Hmmm...ok. The brush-dragging thing sounds like a lot of fun, I guess. But the precision-felling thing...that does sound difficult, I've heard about it, and it sounds complicated to say the least. Lots of wedges and things like that.

...and Uncle Jeff has one of those huge chainsaws too. He never uses it, but he says it's cool to keep around because it makes him feel special when people ask about it :p

Yeah, there's snow. We usually get it about 4-5 times, Usually between after Thanksgiving up until The end of February. And for some reason, It always snows on March 1st. Don't know why. But it's not enough to make a snowman...just enough to piss you off.
